All-over blossom & foliage ceiling
"They needed a talking point, for wedding guests visiting for a day and regular diners who always come back."
The brief
The team at The Mount Hotel asked me to revive their restaurant ceiling with all-over pink blossom and foliage. I was excited from the very first conversation. A space where guests enjoy the design every single day is exactly the kind of project I love.
We started with a site visit, sitting down with the owners to talk through everything they wanted. It was obvious straight away that they needed something to set their interiors apart from every other venue nearby.
The design
A ceiling in full bloom.
I designed a canopy of pink blossom and foliage to cover the whole restaurant ceiling, turning the room into something guests talk about long after they leave.
- All-over pink blossom
- Layered trailing foliage
- Designed for daily dining and weddings
- Made in the studio, installed on site
Bringing the garden in
Stunningly impressive.
The dining room looks out over beautifully kept gardens, and the blossom ceiling brings that beauty indoors. Anyone who steps into the room is impressed and inspired, and both the client and I were thrilled with the results.
The result
"I do sometimes have to pinch myself that this is my job."Sharon Demmery
