"A modern, open-plan venue with a different mood in every room. Each one needed its own installation."
The brief
St Martin's House is a stylish bar and restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden. My first step was to visit, get a feel for the surroundings and talk through the florals that would work.
I took lots of photos and videos of the space, then went home and designed a set of installations to suit the mood and interiors of every area.
A style for each setting
Blossom climbing over the bar.
At the entrance, a beautiful branch arrangement with pink and purple wisteria trailing the walls around the signage. In the main bar, large planters of fixed branches and big manzanita branches with pink cherry blossom, climbing the wall and over the mirrored gantry.
- Pink & purple wisteria
- Manzanita branches
- Pink cherry blossom
- Pink & light green apple blossom
- Purple amaranthus
Upstairs & downstairs
A wonderfully wild, overgrown feel.
Pink roses, blossom and amaranthus for the glass stores. Thick branches and trailing purple wisteria in the upstairs dining room and over the mirrored wall of the downstairs bar.
The downstairs dining room became the showstopper: a large custom-built wisteria tree, with wisteria, blossom, manzanita and branches trailing across the ceiling. Despite a tight deadline, everything was complete in three days.
The result
"The owners were over the moon, and they've asked me to create another installation for their Glasgow venue."Sharon Demmery
