"The restaurant was already beautiful. My arrangements added that je ne sais quoi."
The brief
I had already created arrangements for Venezia's sister restaurant in the city centre, so I was thrilled when the owner asked me back.
The restaurant sits within the Old Saxondale Hospital, built in 1902, and exudes class and luxury. Before starting I always visit the site, and here I came away with a clear feel for the styles, colours, volume and heights the space needed.

Colourful and classic
Orchids, magnolia and trailing green.
The brief asked for a vibrant look with a splash of tropical colour. I chose oriental green orchids, added trailing foliage to frame the distinctive wine storage, and brought in white magnolia arrangements in black vases.
- Oriental green orchids
- Springeri & mini willow
- Air plants
- White magnolia in black vases

Cosy corners & the bar
Tall orchids and bold colour.
For the two fireplaces, tall, slim fresh-touch orchids in classic white, softened with trailing plants, moss and orchid leaves. For the bar, bold bright hues within strict height limits: bird of paradise, orchids and pincushion protea.
Before delivery I sent the owner photographs of everything, so we knew our visions matched exactly.
The result
"Fabulously, the owner loved the finished designs. It's all part of the bespoke service."Sharon Demmery
