Your reception desk is the first handshake. Before anyone has said good morning, a visitor has already decided whether your business feels cared for. A beautiful arrangement on that desk says a great deal, and it says it every single day.
I'm asked all the time which luxury artificial flower arrangements suit offices and reception desks. So here's how I approach a workplace, the spots that matter most, and seven pieces from the studio I'd happily put in front of your clients.
The short answer
For a reception desk, choose real-touch orchids in a silver or black vessel, placed at one end of the counter. Add low, sculptural greenery for desks and shelves, calm arrangements for meeting rooms and a fire-retardant tree to soften open-plan floors. Stick to a tight palette that suits your brand, and choose weighted bases that won't tip when the desk gets busy.
Why luxury artificial flowers suit the workplace
Fresh flowers in an office have a hard life. They're delivered on Monday, looking tired by Thursday and dropping petals across the reception desk by Friday. Then there's the bank holiday weekend nobody remembered to water them over.
Luxury artificial arrangements skip all of that. They look exactly the same for your 9am client on a Monday as for your 4pm pitch on a Friday. No water to change, no pollen, no weekly florist contract, and no wilting under office lighting and air conditioning. Just a consistent, beautiful first impression, month after month.
Beautiful florals belong in every workplace. The trick is making them feel made for yours.
What I look for in a workplace arrangement
- Real-touch blooms. Clients look closely at a reception desk. Soft, realistic petals and correct leaves stand up to that scrutiny. You can see the real-touch detail up close in my studio gallery.
- A clear sightline. Nothing should sit between your receptionist and the person walking in. Low or tall and slim, placed to one side.
- A weighted base. Resin water or a heavy vessel keeps an arrangement steady on a busy counter, however many parcels get signed for beside it.
- A palette that suits your brand. White and green works almost anywhere. Beyond that, I'll often pick up a single colour from your logo.
- Fire performance for bigger pieces. For trees and larger installations in commercial buildings, fire-retardant specifications are worth asking about.
Where flowers make the biggest difference
Walk your office the way a visitor would, from the front door to the meeting room. These are the spots I always look at first.
Reception desk
Keep it to one end of the counter so your team and your visitors can still see each other.
Waiting area
Low arrangements on coffee tables, and a tree or tall grasses to soften the corners.
Boardroom
Low and calm down the centre of the table, so nothing blocks the view across it.
Desks and shelves
Small, sculptural pieces in bowls. A touch of green without taking up workspace.
Open-plan floors
Trees and planters to break up long runs of desks and gently zone the room.
Entrance and lift lobby
Tall, slim arrangements that catch the eye the moment the doors open.
Seven pieces I'd put in any office
Here's where I'd use each one.

When GKN Automotive asked me to bring florals and greenery into their Midlands head office, I wanted every piece to feel as though it belonged to the brand. With my trusted carpenter, I made their logo as a sign finished in moss, then placed simple, impactful arrangements around the office, starting at the entrance for a warm welcome. Bespoke bamboo partitions brought light and a real sense of calm to the workspace.
Keeping office flowers looking perfect
Ask your cleaning team to give arrangements a quick once-over every couple of weeks with a soft brush, or a hairdryer on its cool setting. Keep them out of strong, direct sun near south-facing glass, and they'll look as crisp on your hundredth client visit as they did on your first.

What size flower arrangement suits a reception desk?
Go for something that fills about a third of the counter and sits at one end, so the person on reception and the visitor can see each other clearly. Either keep it low, under about 40cm, or choose a tall, slim arrangement whose blooms sit well above eye level.
Do artificial flowers work in offices with little natural light?
Beautifully. Real flowers and plants struggle under office lighting and air conditioning, but luxury artificial arrangements look exactly the same in a windowless meeting room as they do in a sunny atrium.
Are your artificial trees and plants fire retardant?
Some of my larger commercial pieces, such as the 250cm Split Philo tree, are made to an S1 fire-retardant specification. If fire performance matters for your building, tell me when you enquire and I'll recommend pieces to suit. Always check the requirements for your own premises too.
Can you design arrangements in our brand colours?
Yes. Much of my corporate work is designed around a brand, from arrangements that pick up a logo colour to a full logo sign finished in moss.
Can we hire office flowers instead of buying them?
Yes. If you'd prefer to change the look with the seasons, I offer corporate flower hire. Have a look at what's included, or get in touch and we'll talk it through.
