Installed in
One (very long) day
"The blooms had to stay beautiful for years, whatever the sun did."
The brief
One of my lovely clients, Ali, asked me to create bespoke florals for her stunning garden space in Reading, with a hot tub and bar area.
Everything had to complement the space and be UV protected to stop it fading in the sun. She sent me photos of the space, and asked for colourful, tropical arrangements with hot pink orchids at the heart of it.
The flower wall
Style that works in the sunshine.
I fixed UV plant walls to the two walls as a base, then layered faux tropical flowers and leaves on top to create a vertical garden bursting with colour.
- Hot pink phalaenopsis orchids
- Purple vanda orchids
- Bird of paradise
- Gloriosa
- Pink protea & tropical leaves
The ceiling
Colour overhead.
For the ceiling I built a grid with vines, then added UV foliage and flowers: trailing coleus and bougainvillea in fuchsia and light pink, contrasting beautifully with the tropical foliage below.
The whole installation was completed in a single, very long day, and everybody went home happy.
The result
"Both the installation and the colour scheme completely transformed her garden sanctuary."Sharon Demmery
